The Worst of Brett Newski CD (Satire Songs & Oddities, 2017)
from $7.00

“Kurt Cobain’s a p*ssy, Taylor Swift is The Man” sings Brett Newski in his latest single "Bro Country" off the new satirical folk/punk album "The Worst of Brett Newski". The world is efffed up. But if we're going down, we're going down together.

Some people might love this album. Other people might think it’s a total piece of poo. Whatever you decide is cool. Maybe some of these songs will provide justice to aspects of society that piss you off. Maybe not…but also maybe so, because even if you don’t like the songs you can use the disc as a Frisbee or just break it over your leg, and that’s justice right there to certain types of folks. :)

The Stars are as Good as a Nightlight EP (cd)
from $7.00

Society will push you around. It will make you feel guilty for being unique, or taking risks, or pushing boundaries. Society looks down upon odd-balls, weirdos & people who don't follow what is "normal" or "status quo". This makes me sad because it keeps so many brilliant minds at bay, too scared to put themselves out there. This EP is about taking risks and embracing those who take them. It's about honoring the weirdos that go on their own ride (or are about to) and light their own road. It's for the ones who decide who they are for themselves, and not based on what others tell them. This EP is called The Stars are as Good as a Nightlight.

For tracks "Ride" and "Stars", I teamed up with Death Cab for Cutie engineer Beau Sorenson, a fellow Wisconsin lad who I trust a great deal. All together, the EP features 4 tracks heavily influenced by 90's bands like Pixies, Weezer, BNL, Wilco, and Nada Surf (one of my all-time favorite bands). Feel free to share it with your friends who love 90's rock :)

Hi-Fi DIY ep (cd, 2015)
from $7.00

While the winter snow buried his hometown of Milwaukee, Brett Newski hibernated to South Africa, touring, couch surfing and writing songs for the “Hi-Fi D.I.Y. EP.” His car broke down on day one of the tour, food poisoning set in on day five and his train car fell under attack by robbers on a trip from Johannesburg to Durban, inspiring the song “No Anchor,” a song about diving face-first into the world alone with no safety net.

In preparation for the Hi-Fi D.I.Y. World Tour, Brett returned home to record new material. Fellow Milwaukean and Violent Femmes cofounder, Victor DeLorenzo, produced Hi-Fi D.I.Y. at Howl Street Recordings in Milwaukee. The two geared up for the Hi-Fi sessions by holding coffee drinking contests on Victor’s front porch, demoing tunes on an old snare drum and ragtime guitar. The five songs are a blend of Newski’s anxiety-rich indie rock, along with tongue-in-cheek power acoustic tunes like “DIY,” about playing “the worst show of your life to four people on a shitty Monday night in St. Louis.” The final leg of the “Hi-Fi D.I.Y”. world tour took place in Feb of 2016 in Australia
